UPDATE 1
- Increased length of the slide on the center piece
- Reshaped & curved the connectors to improve smoothness
UPDATE 2
- Corrected “slice to slice” connector cuts
- Introduced base supports
- These are not actually for overhangs, they are to help the model hold still during printing
- Increased speed on adaptive layer scale to reduce print time & filament waste
UPDATE 3
- Altered support settings to increase stability
- Moved Support far enough way for a brim to print too
- Increased size from 125% to 130%
UPDATE 4
- Introduced better “EZ MODE” profile
- Includes thin, tiny, connectors that print at layer 58 & 190
- This drastically improves stability during printing & reduces the chance of the toolhead knocking over the print
- YOU WILL NEED TO USE (minimal) force to push the slices to break supporting connectors
- I then recommend scraping them off the remains with something like a pocket knife
UPDATE 5
- Corrected an issue where a layer was printing with a fused connector on the EZ Mode profiles
- Rotated the center-out connectors 1.66° on both profiles
I added a little bit of spiral to my APPLE! Octagon Fidget & turned it into a soccer ball.
You can expect more balls in the future. 🖤🦊
Notes:
- Prints using a brim. I strongly suggest you keep it
- Painting is done via modifiers. DO NOT manually paint. It WILL NOT go well.
- Purging between black & white costs a lot of filament
- Consider adding a flush object/fidget (or a couple balls as flushes)
- I have NOT printed this smaller than the profile sizes (125%)
- If you're brave enough to try, let me know how it turns out!
