Description

This is a 10-slot case for 3ml peptide vials. I modified the original concept to achieve more compact scaling, saving space in the fridge. I also created a custom insert to keep the vials from rattling or clinking.

I opted for a fully printable design to make it easier to assemble, which eliminates the need for any additional hardware or components that might rust in a humid environment.

Design Details

  • Fits 10 Vials: Sized for 3ml vials (17mm diameter) with caps.
  • No Hardware: The lid snaps into the base. No screws or pins required.
  • Secure Insert: Custom internal layout keeps vials upright.
  • Compact Scaling: Slimmed down to fit easily in side doors or butter compartments.
  • Material: Printed PLA+ so the latch and snap features can flex without breaking. Regular PLA works given the use case, and PETG also works well if you want more flexibility.

Print Settings

  • Filament: PLA+, PLA, or PETG
  • Supports: Tree Supports Used (Should be fine without, just wanted to ensure clean overhangs)
  • Walls: 2 (Tolerances aren’t super tight; all mechanisms work smoothly with little friction)
  • Infill: 15% (Gyroid is my preferred)

Assembly

Once the parts have finished, assemble the top and bottom pieces (line up the open space and ball for the hinges) and push in the insert. The insert is designed to be a tight fit, so it stays locked in place. The snap fit is snug to make sure the case stays together during use.
