Description

This is a dedicated "Mini-Server" style case for the Orange Pi 5, designed for high-performance stability. Unlike many standard cases, this design utilizes a Back-to-Front airflow system.

The fan is mounted at the rear, pushing fresh air over the components and exhausting it through the port openings at the front. This ensures that the SoC and your NVMe drive stay cool even during heavy server workloads like hosting Docker containers, Plex, or compile jobs.

Key Features

  • Back-to-Front Airflow: Optimized for 24/7 server use. The rear-mounted fan forces air through the chassis and out the front IO ports.
  • Versatile Fan Mount: Designed for a 35x35mm fan. It fits both 10mm and slim 6mm thickness fans (5V recommended to power directly from the OPi GPIO pins).
  • Server Desktop Orientation: Designed to sit horizontally on a desk or shelf with a low-profile, "server-rack" aesthetic.
  • Precision Fit: All ports (USB, Ethernet, HDMI, etc.) are easily accessible with clearance for cables.

Technical Specifications

Hardware required:

  • 4xM3 Heat-set inserts (Recommended for the most secure and professional fit).
  • 4xM3 Screws. Note: While M3 is recommended, the holes can be modified/forced for M4 screws if necessary.
  • Up to 4 screws for fan

Assembly Instructions

  1. Fan Installation: Secure your 35mm fan into the rear mount. Ensure the fan is oriented to blow air into the case (towards the ports).
  2. Seating the Board: Place the Orange Pi 5 into the bottom shell, aligning the ports with the front cutouts.
  3. Wiring (Important): Connect the fan to the 5V and GND pins on the Orange Pi 5 GPIO header BEFORE closing the case.
  4. Closing the Case: Once the fan is wired and the board is seated, carefully snap or screw the case together.
