4L Dry Box Kit for Outer Spool Desiccant Trays

 

I recently upgraded my filament storage to using 4L Cereal Containers.  I had already designed and printed a lot of Outer Spool Desiccant Trays which work great but I liked the quick access / quick store functionality of the 4L Box Storage.  However, I wanted a way that I could re-use all of the desiccant trays, hygrometers, and filament labels I already had.  So, I designed these items to easily convert my bagged spool storage and re-use all those items.

 

The base is designed similar to many on Makerworld with the hygrometer in the front.  I made the cap separate to avoid any supports.  What makes these different is the rear is designed to allow the outer spool trays to slide into place to provide an easy, clean way to include desiccant.  

 

The front also has some open space where I printed some typical center spool desiccant holders I already had (sorry I don't remember where I got the model now but there are many on MW and Printables all very similar).

 

There is also a saddle that can be printed to allow the 4L boxes to be used in the inverted position for denser storage.  Sloped Label Holders are also included to hold my FILAMENT LABELS.

 

For the 4L Cereal containers, I used THESE from Walmart but a lot of other brands on Walmart and Amazon all should fit pretty much the same.

 

Note:  For A1 Mini you will need to rotate the Base 45 degrees to fit it on the build plate.
