A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid

 

After uploading the AMS lite Filament Hub Helper and AMS lite Tubes and Cable Helper on September 19 and 22, 2024, I received some suggestions in the comments section. After conducting some tests and making improvements, I created this A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid, which I named because I realized it looks a bit like a squid. Thank you so much to everyone who gave me suggestions in the comments!

 

The A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid can help the AMS lite Filament Hub reduce pressure caused by bending of the PTFE tube. It also supports the cable at the back and features two Y-shaped splitters that allow you to connect additional 3D printing filament spools, such as TPU material, without manually removing the PTFE tube. Additionally, you can also put the lid on when you don't need to use the external PTFE tube.

Note added on November 7, 2024:
The original model hole diameter is 4.4mm, which is the perfect size for me and most users. However, a small number of users have reported that the hole is too small, so I have updated the Print Profile to include a model with a 4.5mm hole diameter. Wishing you a smooth printing experience!

Note added on October 27, 2024: 
For users who do not require Y-shaped splitters, the Standard Helper is sufficient. Compared to the Helper Squid, it has a more streamlined appearance and an easier installation process.

 

How to Install A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid:

The following shows the important notes and the improvements made. Please take a moment to check them out, and I hope they are helpful to you. Wishing you smooth 3D printing!

 

Important Notes:

 

1.

The two short PTFE tubes that connect to the AMS lite Filament Hub via the Y-shaped tubes must be precisely 30mm. Accurate dimensions help ensure smooth filament passage. Additionally, the outlets of the Y-shaped splitter are not designed with barbs, so you need to insert the two PTFE tubes into the hub before installing the A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid.

 

2.

To ensure the PTFE tubes do not become detached, please insert the four PTFE tubes connected to the Y-shaped splitter into the A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid until they cannot be pushed any further.

 

3.

The A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid features an additional fastener design, which allows you to remove one side by simply pushing it outward.

 

4.

Designed specifically for the dimensions of the Bambu Lab factory PTFE tubes. (inner 2.5mm, outer 4mm)

 

Improvements:

 

1.

The previously uploaded design of the AMS lite Filament Hub Helper and AMS lite Tubes and Cable Helper occupied the ventilation port above the extruder unit, causing potential cooling issues. The new design of the A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid addresses this problem.

 

2.

The cable support of the AMS lite Tubes and Cable Helper is directed upward, which may conflict with items mounted on the upper beam, such as the official AMS Lite Top Mount for A1 or external filament spools. The new design of the A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid improves upon this.
