Customize

To customize this model, please use the “Customize” button. Please feel free to add your design as a print profile/remix to this page!

Convert Images to SVGs to use on your version of the model! Plenty of free resources online to convert image files to SVGs, I've personally used https://picsvg.com/ with good success. For that site, you can use the “Filters” option after uploading a picture to get the correct SVG output you're looking for.

Unlike my other designs, wanted to create a standard Dugout but give you the option to design it however you please!

The lid just slides right into place! Same as always, I prefer to make everything 3d printable with no external parts needed. The bumps on the lid snap right into the rails carved into the top of the body. This keeps the lid on when closed, and when opening it should keep the lid from falling off.

The tolerances/friction between the body and lid will likely be quite tight after printing. However I've found that just sliding the lid back and forth/on and off the body a few times will quickly allow it to operate smoothly.

With this customizable design you can:

  • Write custom text on the front, back, lid, and even hidden on the bottom!
    • All sides have their own Font selection. Front and back can have a total of 5 lines of text, each line can be sized as big or small as you'd like, and can be moved up and down the face.
  • Pick and choose which sides you'd like to customize
    • At the top of each line of settings, you have a switch to turn off or on the options for that side.
  • The text options also support Unicode characters (emojis)! Just select the Noto Emoji font, and you can copy/paste them in.
    • Plenty of resources online to find Unicode characters, such as here: https://symbl.cc/en/emoji/
  • Upload any SVG, size and position it as needed!
    • Can add SVG files to either the front or back of the model.
    • Under the SVG Settings drop down, you'll see the ability to resize the image, move it up and down, and even rotate each SVG.
  • Multi-color Prints (UNTESTED)
    • By default, the model with generate with the text and SVG images as 2 different colors from the model color. Downloading as a .3mf will preserve the colors.
    • If you want a single color print, select “Download STL"

Printing Recommendations:

  • Suggest printing with the “0.16 High Quality” setting at the most. I've found using .2mm and up you'll lose a noticeable amount of clarity (especially for SVGs) and you'll see more ghosting on text.
  • For more intricate text or detailed SVGs would recommend going even lower than 0.16.
  • If you'd like more weight/heft to the dugout, increasing the “Sparse infill density” to 25-35% will make a noticeable change.

Dimensions:

The model itself is a total of 94mms tall and 20mm wide.

It's currently modeled to support a standard 3in/~77mm bat/one hitter.

Will likely make a second variation in the future to support a smaller 2in/~51mm bat/one hitter.
