Description
The printer design that I am working on now, is based on SC12LUUs.
As I try to remove weight to get my carriage to move faster, and also to remove noise from the LM12UUs, I have designed this.
LM12UU are ID:12mm, OD:21mm, L:30mm
I got my hands on DryLin R - Solid polymer bearing model RJM-01-12
But, those are ID:12mm, OD:22mm, L:32mm
So, they could not fit in my SC12LUU blocks. And at any rate, since I wanted to shed some weight, but keep my design intact, I retrofited thing http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18993 to fit the IGUS bearing, and to fit the size of SC12LUU blocks.
While I was at it, I also designed regular size SC12UU blocks.
Print without support, but, when you print it, print 2 at a time, and mark them as twin brother, and use only twin brothers on parallel applications.
Using twin brother parts will ensure no height or size difference, which is quite important if you do not wish to have binding effects while moving your carriage. (don't ask how I know)
Enjoy.
