Description
I bought a clone e3d bowden extruder (they seem to only come in bowden) and wanted to use it with my PrintrBot. It actually turned out to work better than the direct model since the bowden nut gives it more support than just having a spacer. This adapter is designed to fit around that nut.
To get the fan working I didn't want to modify firmware or constantly have it turned on. So I just connected it into a mosfet on the expansion header. You can turn the fan on and off using M42 P{pin} S{state}. I just added this into my start/end g-code.
Here is the clone I bought for $16. It is a fantastic hotend with tons of extra parts.
