Description
Wanted to make a fender with a rounded top because all fenders on the market have a flat one - and came out a fat ball. Looks nice to me, the double curvature was exactly what I wanted.
Printed in PLA because I wanted something asap.If printed in PLA one should ''slice off'' the lower hanging part of the back part- it's designed to catch some of the bigger debris but the pla will degrade probably
I designed it with PlastiDip covering in mind - and peeling off the ''seams and stiches''.
It held up so far but it's designed so that one could print just the part that broke off in case of a rollover( btw the original fender breaks quite easily)
Later edit:
Ian Johnson , https://www.thingiverse.com/ianjohnson/about , was kind to adapt and improve it for TPU prints( which in my mind should be the material of choice, but I didn't had the patience to test for it). I've added his files with v2 extension. He printed it with 0 infill and 6 perimeters in TPU with .65mm extrusion width. That left a hollow space in the top. He made a splint to stick into the hollow and help keep the top of the fender aligned for gluing.
