Description
Updated June 8, 2020 I added an extra hole to the bottom of the box. The solution is hard enough, but this makes it a little easier to manipulate the pieces. I also increased the bevel of the pieces and the box to make one rotation a little smoother.
This is the Snakewise puzzle developed by Haym Hirsh. I helped him find a solution to this puzzle and it is very, very, difficult. He graciously allowed me to post these files here for others to enjoy the puzzle as well.
The box is based on the Y-Pack box (https://woodwondersonline.com/products/y-pack) which is slightly different than the Snake Pack box (https://woodwondersonline.com/products/snake-pit). The pieces use 4 of the Y-Pack pieces and 1 of the Snake Pack pieces. Since the box is the same as Y-Pack, you could print a 5th copy of the Y piece and have both the Snakewise puzzle and Y-Pack puzzles to solve. Both are quite difficult. You can read a review of Y-Pack here: https://www.puzzlemad.co.uk/2020/05/haym-designs-tic-in-box.html
The puzzlecad file is included (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3198014) in case you want to make modifications. I just got a new printer, and I think the offsets on this box are what everyone else will find appropriate. The box should close permanently when put together.
Enjoy the solve!
