Monoprice Select Mini v2 - Hotend LED Lights

None of the existing solutions to light up the hotend of my MP Select Mini v2 printer worked for me, so I designed my own.

It fits right behind the stock 30mm fan and provides 2 convenient arms to hold a simple 5mm LED in each (warm white straw-hat, in my case). The LEDs point right at the hotend.

I've connected both LEDs in series and directly to the 12v supply input via a single resistor, so they work all the time while the printer is on.

The holder itself can be installed in 5 minutes, however, routing the wires from the hotend to the base along the Bowden tube and down the main column takes a bit of time. As an alternative, you could also tap into the hotend fan wires, however, that would mean the LEDs would not work if the fan is off (e.g. during the 1st layer).

The LEDs could be glued in place, or held in place by zip ties, I have both just to be sure :)

The lights work fabulously for me, especially useful for 1st layer levelling or just generally checking the progress of your print.
