Description
Modified my Dremel 3D20 hot end for a hot swap PCB that I designed. Probably would work on most Makerbot derived generic hot ends.
The hot swap PCB accommodates 2 part cooling fans, 1 extruder fan, 1 aux connection, thermistor, heater cartridge (24V only, 40W max), and the extruded motor connections.
RJ45 jacks are required to accept the network cables (should be cat5e with 24AWG stranded wire, unshielded twisted pair). Any 2.54mm (0.1") connectors should fit the other connection locations.
This set up was used in the video below to upgrade the dremel 3D20 printer to use Duet Wifi 2 controller and various other upgrades. See the video for assembly and all details related to the hot end and PCB.
