Description
This is a set of parts needed to make your own 4oz sugar rocket. The motors are made from sugar (sorbitol), potassium nitrate, and the nozzles are made from bentonite clay. All of these materials are available for purchase at Skylighter.com
These components are easy to print and turn a paper rocket motor into an actual vehicle. They are all designed to be press fit together, so no adhesives required if your printer is dialed-in. This includes the motor. The tube is split into two slightly different sizes to accommodate how much distortion the paper tube received while ramming/pressing.
I would not fly these in any residential location. They go very high and come down like a bat out of hell. I found one buried all the way up to the fins, so I don't think they would mind going through a roof. At the very worst you could really hurt someone if they were very unlucky.
Future plans include rigging up a parachute, but they take so little filament I don't mind losing them.
Lastly, please note that there are two different fin configurations available. The four fin is heavier, but is a little more stable in flight.
Be safe and have fun!
