Description

EDIT 1-12-2023 - I uploaded version of the SD and USB sides and HDMI Exhaust Port with 4mm holes - intended for use with brass threaded inserts with a ~4.2mm OD (at the knurl). Also uploaded pics of a better looking prototype.

This is a case for a Raspberry Pi 5 and (optionally) a second board attached to the bottom of the Pi with 6mm or 7mm long spacers.

The intended use is for the Pineberry Hat Drive!

Basically there's a bunch of room under the Pi in this case. So other similar Pi accessories that mount below the Pi with 6mm - 7mm spacers/standoffs.

And it also (optionally) fits an Ice Tower Cooler by 52Pi.

The case has 2.5mm of extra room around the Pi board on the GPIO side, the HDMI side and more like 5mm of extra space on the SD card side - so there's room for ribbon cables or whatever else you need to connect the accessory board.

There's a version with little stubby legs.

There's a version with my typical SSD mount legs.

There's a version of the top and bottom panels that are just solid panels.

There's a version with grill openings that match the SD and USB side.

There's a version with designed infill that matches that SD and USB sides - if you're using filament that may permit a little light from the fan to show through the printed part, the infill pattern that shows will match the SD and USB side. This version is referred to as SKINNED.

All versions of the Top/Bottom panel require support material along the edges. I find that CURA and PRUSA slicers don't really support it to my satisfaction, so I designed my own supports. But there's also versions of the files with no support. If you use the supported version, they should be sliced at .24mm layer height.

The case is intended to be assembled with #4 self-tapping screws. 1/2" long.

Or you can use M3 screws, if you run an M3 tap through the holes before assembly.

The HDMI and GPIO side can be laser cut from 3mm acrylic or whatever material.
